Toast Broken Revealed!
By Keira, Textbroker Editor
Here's a shout-out to all the authors who participated in our last blog. We appreciate your creativity, and we're glad to see the author community thriving here at Textbroker. Thank you all for the enjoyable comments, and we'll be sending a small token of appreciation to our winners. It was difficult to choose just five submissions, but here are our top picks:
Supercrone
A-045275
Neal
Cat Lady
A-000540
Many of you are also reaching special milestones: 61 authors have submitted more than 1000 articles. Congratulations! We appreciate your dedication, and we look forward to seeing more of your work.
Most of our requests for grammar tips were about commas, so our next grammar blog will include some of the common errors we find and how to avoid them. We'll be covering comma splices, appositives and other relative/restrictive clauses, and any underwater bear worth his saltwater will be attending. If you'd like to support your local underwater bears, we're sure that they'd appreciate your reading the explanations to them. Champagne optional.

Congratulations to all the victorious underwater bears above!
...all other UB's, self included, should aspire to attain such greatness.added by: author WordRaptor on 10/26/2010 - 04.59
Thanks for the "Textie" (the TB equivalent of an Oscar or Emmy)...am eagerly awaiting the "small token". However, since you have consistently refused to consider raising my pay rate in even the most minimal way, I have decided that the winning contribution will be my farewell appearance. I have been assured by a former client that my work is infinitely superior to that of the average TB writer, but since your editors evidently don't agree with that appraisal, this UB is outta here. If you ever raise your pay scale to above 30 cents an hour, let me know.added by: author Supercrone on 10/26/2010 - 06.33
Keira, I could not find the winning submissions. Is this the conundrum of which you spoke? Conundrums are very useful. In fact, they are used by politicians all the time. If you wish to engage in safe text, it is highly recommended that you use a conundrum. It confuses the listener, giving you enough time to prate on about something else.
As a Toastmaster, I am aware of Toast Broken as an enigma, a riddle or a dilemma, but not as a conundrum. Similar to a Toast Groken (alternate past participle of grok), a Toast Broken indicates that the emcee left a long pause in his Toast so that the listeners could fully grok his humor … … … …. … powerful, eh?

Congrats to all who won, and all who put in their best effort.. haha there is that comma again. I read how comma's are overrated..but what else do we do. LOL.

Just discovered this blog. I have to say Textbroker has really got its act together. When I first signed up (in March 2010) I thought that this website might not last long. There was nothing wrong with the way that they were doing anything, it was just that they were so new (having only been around since 2008). It was almost one of those too good to be true stories. As it turns out the story continues on and is still very good. :)
I am one of the 61 to have posted over 1,000 articles (currently I am at around 1,500) and I will continue with this site into the foreseeable future. This site has helped make me a lot of money. The screen picture on my phone is the textbroker logo (dedicated, oh yeah!!!). Thank you textbroker. :)added by: author Marmalade on 11/07/2010 - 08.34
I have to agree with Marmalade. TB is an excellent place to earn money and it fits perfect with my schedule. There is no way I would have found a job that would work around my 17-credit-hour school schedule. This is perfect - I can write during my breaks, late at night or whenever I want to. The best part is the flexibility allows me to make as much or more as I could working whatever part-time job I might have found out here! I'm very thankful. :)added by: author A-037804 on 11/12/2010 - 08.35
