How do I get paid?
When an article is accepted, your earnings are deposited in your Textbroker account. When you have a balance of $10 or more, you can request a pay-off. We transfer funds from Textbroker accounts to PayPal weekly. Please make your pay-off requests by 11:59 PM Pacific Time on Thursday to receive your funds the next business day.
Please make sure that you have your PayPal account in our records under "Account - My User Data" and scroll all the way to the bottom. To request your payoff, go to "Account - Pay-off" and click the big green button. You will receive e-mail confirmations for your request and when the funds are transferred. Please allow the full business day to receive your funds.
How often can I request a payoff?
You can request a payoff as soon as your account shows a minimum balance of $10 USD. Simply click on “request payoff” under "Account / Payoff." We pay out every week. We politely ask you to minimize our efforts by limiting your payment requests to 1 or 2 times for each accounting period.
All pay-offs requested by 11:59 PM PST any Thursday will be transferred Friday. Please allow 24 hours for all notifications to go out before reporting missing or late payments.
If I request multiple payoffs, do they show up individually or in one lump transaction?
If you have requested several payoffs within one accounting period, you will receive a single entry for each request. If you make one payment request, as recommended, you will receive one lump payment. However, all payments are made on the same day, so please ask for one or two payoff requests per pay period.
When is the money transferred?
All pay-offs requested by 11:59 PM PST any Thursday will be transferred on Friday.
Please allow a full business day to receive notification that your funds have been transferred. To keep operating costs at a minimum, payoffs can only be requested with a minimum balance of $10 USD. Smaller amounts are carried over to the next accounting period and can be requested once the $10 USD limit is reached.
Can I be paid by wire transfer, check, or direct deposit?
No, currently we can only make payoffs via PayPal. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
What's a W-9 and why do I need to send one in?
As an independent contractor, the tax rules are different from a permanent position. We are required by the IRS to ask you for a W-9. This form confirms that you are a US person (citizen or resident) and subject to US tax rules. This is a completely normal verification process that serious companies ask of their contractors. We provide W-9s with Textbroker's information to our clients on a regular basis, just as you provide your information to us. Your data will be handled confidentially according to our privacy policy.
If you do not send in an IRS Form W-9, you can still accept orders but cannot request payoffs. If you reach $500 in earnings without a W-9, we will no longer allow you to accept orders until we have a W-9 form. We do this to stay compliant with the IRS. One IRS form W-9 is sufficient. We do not need a new form every year. If you change any of your personal information, including your profession or job, our system will ask you to re-submit your W-9. If your address or name has changed, please submit a form with your current information. If you only changed your profession, please send our team an e-mail to adjust your status. You can download the W-9 from here: www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw9.pdf Please fill it out legibly. Your signature and Social Security Number or Employer Identification Number are required. To expedite processing, please include your e-mail address or Author ID in the box "List account number(s) here (optional)." When the form is signed, you can send it via snail mail to: Textbroker International LLC 9484 W Flamingo Rd Ste 270 Las Vegas, Nevada 89147 or via fax to: (702) 553-4256 As soon as we receive it, it usually takes only 1-2 business days for us to process it and verify your account. You will receive notification when your W-9 has been processed. We currently cannot accept e-mailed forms.
What's a 1099 and when do I get one?
A 1099 is an IRS document that shows your earnings from our site. The IRS requires us to send this document out to those who have earned more than $600 with us. We send the 1099 out once a year in January with the total amount you have earned with us over the entire year.
Please claim all income earned with us on your taxes. Please consult a tax professional if you are unsure how to handle this income. While we are happy to provide any necessary documentation, Textbroker is not a tax professional and cannot help you file your taxes.
What if I need to change my PayPal address?
Your PayPal address is shown whenever you request a payoff. Please check this address for proper spelling, transposed letters and completeness. If there is anything incorrect with this address (spelling, switched accounts), cancel your request and correct your address under "Account - My User Data." Scroll all the way to the to the bottom to change your PayPal information.
Once you confirm this e-mail address is the correct and proper address, the payment will be sent to this address. A change after confirming your address and requesting your payoff is NOT possible. If your address is not correct or your account is closed and PayPal returns your money, we will charge $5 for each further attempt at sending the money to your new address. |
