From 0 to 100 in Seven Years

Textbroker now has more than 100 in-house employees. Whether in Las Vegas, New York or Mainz, Germany, they work together to ensure that more than 100,000 articles are completed and evaluated every month. Jan Becker-Fochler founded the company in Mainz in 2005 when he realized that he wasn’t the only webmaster looking for a qualified author network.

He hired the first employees to evaluate articles and launched the Textbroker platform in 2007 to give authors access to orders from other customers. The team grew quickly, with new personnel for author and client support, accounting, human resources, website development and our own content development. Of course, more editors kept quality assurance, the core of Textbroker’s concept, consistent.

Into the Great Wide Open

The company grew so much that Jan Becker-Fochler traveled to the USA to start textbroker.com’s Las Vegas office in 2009. The following year, he won over ViewPoint Capital Partners for the company’s first round of start-up funding, which allowed him to recruit Phillip Thune as CEO-Americas and open a New York office as well as expand the Textbroker concept to other countries’ native speakers: textbroker.fr (French), textbroker.co.uk (British English), textbroker.nl (Dutch), textbroker.es (Spanish), textbroker.it (Italian) and textbroker.com.br (Portuguese), of which the last two will officially launch later this year.

All offices have expanded with new employees in sales, project management, client and author services, bookkeeping and marketing. The German headquarters has also added product and software development staff to continue improving our services. Together, the US and German teams put more than 100 employees to work delivering the best possible content in seven languages to 60,000 clients in 130 countries. “From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who has supported us on our journey,” said Jan Becker-Fochler. “Without you, I’d be sitting alone in an empty office, only dreaming of this kind of success."

Textbroker Adds Spanish and Dutch Content Creation Services

The Textbroker Group, the leading platform for on-demand, unique written content, is proud to announce its two newest languages: Spanish and Dutch. Textbroker.es and textbroker.nl were opened February 1.

With the success of the German, French, and British versions of the Textbroker content creation platform, the two newest sites help the group serve even more European languages.

Textbroker Expands to Great Britain with textbroker.co.uk

MAINZ, Germany—The Textbroker Group, the leading platform for on-demand, unique written content, is proud to announce its expansion into British-speaking content markets with the launch of www.textbroker.co.uk. The new site will be open to English writers from around the world on December 1, and clients will be able to place orders starting December 12.

With the success of textbroker.com, the US-based content creation site, along with its original website textbroker.de (German), and textbroker.fr (French) launched in March 2011, the group has seen a strong demand for UK-optimized content, leading to the new site.

“We have seen an increased demand for British, Canadian and Australian English. Expanding to the UK was a natural step to better serve our clients,” said Jan Becker-Fochler, CEO of Sario Marketing GmbH, Textbroker’s parent company. “Our success in integrating new languages has encouraged us to look at additional expansion, including the launch of Spanish and Dutch offerings in the first quarter of 2012.”

Successful Launch Of textbroker.fr

Just three months ago, we launched the new service textbroker.fr. The platform offers the same Textbroker quality levels and quick turnaround for Canada, Switzerland, Belgium, France and other French-speaking countries. Press releases, website content, travel reports, SEO articles and product descriptions are now available in French at reasonable rates.
We've now grown our French author database and fully tested the quality levels, ensuring that fast turnaround on all quality levels is possible.

“Finally, the French market can take advantage of competitive pricing starting at 1.2 cents per word,” said Natascha Richter, who manages the portal from Mainz, Germany. Since the Internet is available across countries and borders, the French native is excited about exporting the successful Textbroker model.

Clients registered with textbroker.de can also use their information to log in to textbroker.fr. Unfortunately, clients with accounts with textbroker.com will have to register for textbroker.fr separately.

Textbroker Names Phillip R. Thune as CEO-Americas

NEW YORK, Feb. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Textbroker International, LLC, the leading online platform for on-demand, unique written content, today announced the appointment of Phillip R. Thune as CEO-Americas.

"We are pleased to welcome Phillip to Textbroker," said Jan Becker-Fochler, founder and CEO of Sario Marketing GmbH, the parent company of Textbroker. "We will rely on Phillip's extensive Internet and media background to further accelerate our strong growth in the U.S., and attain our goal of becoming the trusted resource for on-demand content for U.S. businesses."

Mr. Thune was most recently the Chief Executive Officer of HireMeNow.com, the first completely online temporary staffing firm. Before that, he was, at various times, President, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and a Director of MIVA (formerly known as FindWhat.com), a leading performance-based online advertising company. Mr. Thune helped lead MIVA from 35 employees and $500,000 in annual revenue at the end of 1999 to 500 employees and nearly $200 million in revenue in 2005. Mr. Thune helped MIVA raise over $34 million dollars, acquire five businesses for a total of $230 million, and achieve a market capitalization of over $700 million. Prior to MIVA, he served as Co-founder, Chief Financial Officer and a Director of Broadcasting Partners Holdings, L.P., which was sold to Citadel Communications for $190 million in early 2000. At the time, Broadcasting Partners was the 24th largest radio group in the United States with 38 stations in 11 markets. Before that, he worked at Alex. Brown & Sons, now a subsidiary of Deutsche Bank, in the investment banking division's Media & Communications Group. Mr. Thune also was Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategic Planning for BPI, a publicly-traded radio broadcasting company that was sold in 1995 and is now part of Clear Channel.

"I'm excited to join a company that has created a new category in the online space: on-demand, crowdsourced, custom content," said Thune. "The company's growth to date in both Germany and the U.S. is impressive, and has positioned us to lead the movement to leverage the internet for faster, better, easier, and less expensive services from the 'crowd.'"

Mr. Thune graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University. He will be based in Textbroker's recently-opened New York City office.

His interview with Webmaster Radio covers the importance of fresh content after Google's Panda update.

Textbroker Customer Survey Forecasts Dramatic Growth in Content Marketing

Textbroker International, the leading platform for on-demand, unique written content, found that 89% of small businesses already involved in content marketing will increase their content marketing spending in 2012.

A recent survey of small and medium-sized businesses showed that 21.8 percent will double their content spending, and 21.1 of respondents said they would increase their spending by 50 percent. Content marketers plan to put the majority of their budget into article-based marketing, press releases and blogging. While nearly all respondents use social media, 92.6 percent of respondents plan to spend less than a quarter of their budget on this tactic.

“Our customers clearly recognize the need for unique, frequently-updated content, and this research shows just how fast that part of their marketing budget is growing,” said Phillip Thune, CEO-Americas. “Businesses are investing in their online presence to survive and thrive in even the toughest competitive environments.”

The survey was distributed to more than 30,000 small and medium-sized businesses and had more than 100 respondents.

Textbroker Brazil will launch jointly with Italy, led by Juliana Maiolino Schneider. Juliana has a journalism degree and will manage the orders and texts coming from Portugal and Brazil.

Both Textbroker France and UK are growing with new additions to the sales team. With almost 20 years international experience in marketing, Olivia Drach, as Business Development Manager France, will be making sure Textbroker stays ahead of the competition in France. Mark Holleron, the born and bred Brit with qualifications in business studies, is coming to Textbroker following work in finance sales and Internet marketing.
