Textbroker now has more than 100 in-house employees. Whether in Las Vegas, New York or Mainz, Germany, they work together to ensure that more than 100,000 articles are completed and evaluated every month. Jan Becker-Fochler founded the company in Mainz in 2005 when he realized that he wasn’t the only webmaster looking for a qualified author network. He hired the first employees to evaluate articles and launched the Textbroker platform in 2007 to give authors access to orders from other customers. The team grew quickly, with new personnel for author and client support, accounting, human resources, website development and our own content development. Of course, more editors kept quality assurance, the core of Textbroker’s concept, consistent.
Into the Great Wide Open
The company grew so much that Jan Becker-Fochler traveled to the USA to start textbroker.com’s Las Vegas office in 2009. The following year, he won over ViewPoint Capital Partners for the company’s first round of start-up funding, which allowed him to recruit Phillip Thune as CEO-Americas and open a New York office as well as expand the Textbroker concept to other countries’ native speakers, covering French, British English, Dutch, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese, of which the last two will officially launch later this year. All offices have expanded with new employees in sales, project management, client and author services, bookkeeping and marketing. The German headquarters has also added product and software development staff to continue improving our services. Together, the US and German teams put more than 100 employees to work delivering the best possible content in seven languages to 60,000 clients in 130 countries. “From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who has supported us on our journey,” said Jan Becker-Fochler. “Without you, I’d be sitting alone in an empty office, only dreaming of this kind of success."
