From conception to the world’s leading content marketplace

The idea behind Textbroker is to satisfy the growing demand for custom content. As an SEO provider, Textbroker founder Jan Becker-Fochler experienced first-hand the increasing importance of unique content to his clients; after all, unique content leads to a better ranking in search engines, more traffic and more revenue. Then, in 2005, Becker-Fochler came up with the idea to search for authors, motivate them to write, rate the quality of their work and compensate them for their effort. To accomplish this, he commissioned the development of a preliminary version of the Textbroker platform.

Within a short time, thousands of authors eager for the chance to earn money with their writing signed up. In 2007, Textbroker launched the Internet’s first content marketplace. Today, Textbroker authors deliver high-quality product descriptions, blog posts, press releases, social media posts, news stories, and technical articles and a wide variety of other written content to clients around the world. In essence, Textbroker is a better, faster, easier and less expensive way for companies to get freelance written content.

Thousands of Clients and Authors around the world, One Great Team

Clients can choose to have their content in German, English (US & UK), French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese (BR & PT), Finnish, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Russian and many more.

Textbroker’s authors are freelancers, able to work anywhere there is an Internet connection. Textbroker ensures that authors come from the target countries for each platform. For example, textbroker.com only permits U.S.-based authors.

Textbroker serves a wide variety of clients, from small local businesses to travel portals to publishing houses to some of the largest companies in the world. Textbroker can offer a service level and price point for almost every need, so clients can choose to place and review orders themselves, or ask Textbroker to manage every aspect of requesting, reviewing and posting their content. Textbroker also has relationships with thousands of webmasters and agencies, from search or web design agencies with a few clients to multi-national advertising agencies. Textbroker takes care of content creation, so agencies can focus on more strategic activities for their clients.

Located in Las Vegas and Mainz, Germany, the Textbroker team is a talented collection of editors, account managers, client service reps, programmers, sales and business development executives, marketing experts, and financial and administrative personnel. The team is highly diverse as every platform is managed by native-speakers.

Poised for continued growth

The need for customized content continues to rise all over the world, and as a result, the Textbroker platform has grown rapidly. Textbroker was named to the Inc. 5000 in 2013′, ranking among the top 100 fastest-growing private advertising and marketing companies.

In 2010, ViewPoint Capital Partners became the first outside investors in Textbroker, providing growth capital for expansion. That same year, Phillip Thune, experienced Internet and media executive, joined the company and later served as CEO. In November 2021′, David Yeargin, an experienced business leader specializing in growing new business, took over the role of Chief Executive Officer, US from Thune.

Cody Christensen assumed the role of COO/Co-CEO for U.S. operations in May 2023′, bringing a wealth of experience from his current tenure at Textbroker. With Cody at the helm, the company is poised for a promising future, benefiting from his years of expertise and leadership.
