Textbroker author Amy shares her love for suspenseful novels and … air conditioning units? Say hello to Amy!
Hello Textbroker Authors!
Today, we bring to you the third in a series of many Author Spotlights. We wanted to take a moment every month and recognize an author who has showed great enthusiasm and growth since first signing up.
We are keeping our eyes peeled for future spotlights, so keep on working hard- you might be next!
Author Spotlight #3: Get to know Amy.
Tell us a bit about yourself. (hobbies, interests, etc.)
I didn’t realize how much I loved writing until I had a chance to really evaluate all my interests from elementary school into adult age. I always loved reading, but I’d gravitate toward stories about struggling writers. Even favorite movies would have a writer in there somewhere. Remember “Romancing the Stone” or “Misery”? I’m just naturally attracted to this beautiful art.
What is your favorite book or blog? Why?
My favorite book is “The Shining.” Of course, the movie is a horror classic, but I prefer the dark rumblings of Jack Torrance on the written page. His descent into madness isn’t an unbelievable situation, making the horror of losing your mind that much more possible. I’ve always been a suspense or thriller fan for nearly all my recreational reading adventures.
What is your favorite topic to create content about?
Although I’m a huge fantasy fan, I love creating content about useful and functional subjects. Roofing, home improvement and other construction-like topics are my favorite. I have a background in these areas, so I do appreciate explaining complex items to readers who just want to understand their air conditioner! Descriptive articles about mundane appliances can be incredibly interesting if the written word can flow through your fingers.
We’d like to give a special thank you to Amy for taking part in this month’s Author Spotlight. Stay tuned for upcoming interviews with exemplary authors! If you have questions you’d like us to include in next month’s Spotlight, send them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
