Introducing Author Videos
While Textbroker is, of course, convinced that the best way to communicate ideas is through strongly written copy, even we must admit that the most avid bookworm would prefer a tutorial video over complex written instructions – so we made some! Without further ado, we’d like to unveil the first installment of our author videos!
Swedish-inspired furniture is sleek, modern, often woody, and completely impossible to assemble. If it’s more complicated than four legs and two screws, there’s a good chance you’ll put it together upside-down on the first attempt and then completely backwards on the second. At Textbroker, we think every desk should be shipped with an experienced, knowledgeable carpenter to stand behind you and explain exactly what to do. He can hold the screws and washers too.
Barring that, a step-by-step tutorial on DVD would be great. While Textbroker is, of course, convinced that the best way to communicate ideas is through strongly written copy, even we must admit that the most avid bookworm would prefer a tutorial video over complex written instructions – so we made some! Without further ado, we’d like to unveil the first installment of our author videos!
Our first video is an extensive tutorial on how to complete your first order. New and old authors alike can learn from this video, which goes over the basics of orders at Textbroker from top to bottom as well as things like how to review orders on your statistics page. New authors very often have questions about Textbroker, so if you have a friend who wants to see the basics of how we process orders, this video is a great start. Take a look here:
For seasoned authors, however, that sort of video contains little new information. We talked about what types of videos all authors would appreciate, and it was clear: We needed a video on commas. Love it or hate it, please enjoy “Commas, Commas, Commas,” a brief tutorial on the most versatile punctuation mark in English:
“Commas, Commas, Commas” is a much-requested tutorial that reviews the most frequent commas that come up in writing. We designed it with the aim of helping 3-star authors to graduate Textbroker University with a higher rating. For the same program, we’ve also prepared a podcast-style lesson on proofreading with tips on how to proofread actively, suggestions and common errors to look out for. You can review it here:
This podcast goes over exactly what you should be looking for when reviewing your document for errors. We discuss how to proofread and go over all the common errors. Most authors know most of the rules of writing, but not everyone catches all the mistakes in every document. Improving proofreading technique is the key to correcting these errors in a time-effective way and increasing your rating.
What does the future hold?
While Textbroker staff can’t stand behind you with your screws and washers in hand, we really hope you enjoy these videos and find them helpful. More are on the way, and we’ve got a sweet new newsletter as well. We’re planning releases for author-focused videos once every 2-4 weeks, but we haven’t set a schedule in stone, and we’ll continue to produce top-quality informative blog posts as well. Our plan is to release tutorials that new authors can use to learn the ropes of the service first, but we then plan to expand in detail on ratings, tutorials, special videos for managed clients, tips and tricks, and much more! Our next video will cover the different star levels at Textbroker in more detail.
If you have feedback or ideas for videos, feel free to leave a comment or concern here on the blog, at firstname.lastname@example.org, or on our YouTube channel. Thanks for watching!
